Terror attacks ongoing in Benue, Kaduna – Niger Delta group

The Niger Delta Congress, NDC, has raised the alarm of “terror attacks” in Benue and Kaduna States, urging the authorities to stem the tide.

The spokesperson, Mudiaga Ogboru, in a statement on Thursday, said it would be against the dictates of good conscience to be silent in the face of oppression.

“In the past few days, Benue and the Southern parts of Kaduna have been at the receiving end of terrorist attacks,” he said.

Ogboru lamented the cases of deaths, destruction and despair in the indigenous communities, saying no less than 60 persons were killed.

The NDC expressed concern over “the provocative incompetence of those in government charged with the responsibility to secure the people and their communities”.

The organisation charged stakeholders and all people of conscience to lend their voices to the festering security challenges.

The statement called for the arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators, and adequate protection of lives and property in the affected areas.

“The NDC commiserates with the communities and families of the victims of these resurgent terror attacks and show solidarity with the people,” it added.
