N-Power: Group accuses Minister of frustrating volunteers over non-payment of loans

The minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Haija Sadiya Farouq, has been accused of frustrating N-power volunteers over the non-disbursement of loans/grants.

A group known as N-Power Volunteers in the Federal Capital Territory Chapter disclosed this to newsmen on Tuesday in Abuja.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Adeyeye Adepoju said the federal government needs to pay more attention to its promise to reimburse exited N-power volunteers.

Adepopu called on President Muhammadu Buhari to ask the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and CBN to do the needful aimed at ending the frustration experienced by Nigerians.

“We call on President Muhammadu Buhari to prevail on the Minister and the Central Bank of Nigeria to disburse the loan to the already trained volunteers who are certified through various consulting firms across the country.

“We want to use this medium to urge the Minister, Sadiya Farouq, to become completely occupied with her hubby’s gubernatorial election campaign in Bauchi state. Please take a week to disburse the N-exit loan to N-power Volunteers Batch A and B”, he stated.

Five hundred thousand batches of A and B N-power volunteers on-boarded in 2017/2018 were promised an exit package of N3 Million loan/grant after an abrupt disengagement during the COVID-19 period. However, months after training in March, disbursement has yet to be made.
