Positive developments in the past few months have propelled ace broadcast journalist Bolarinwa Olajide into the spotlight as one of the most influential sportscasters in Nigeria. Among his recent achievements was a brand ambassadorship.
Olajide, the presenter of the Max FM Sports Show on Sunday, disclosed to the public via Instagram account, @iambolar, posted on March 23, 2022 “I’m elated to announce to you that I’m the official brand ambassador for fanfootball.app. It’s a Fantasy League like no other. I’ll be sharing tips and playing alongside managers like you to win cash prizes every day.”
The news, which generated a lot of interest at the time, was regarded by many as a further sign of his surging influence in the sports world.
Attestation of this came a few weeks later when he made another announcement on May 21, 2022. “I’m looking forward to host this Twitter Space where we will talk about the Premier League final day + season review. It’s going to be very engaging. Top 4, Top 6 and final relegation spot still to be decided. It’s delicately poised.”
Many sports fans remember him for his F1 show on Nigeria Info FM, the only motorsports show on Nigeria radio, for nine years.
His clout as a sports journalist is also reflected by his productivity and coverage of the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League football matches during his regular trips to Europe.
A recipient of multiple awards including Best Sports Journalist of the Year, Best Sports Journalists (Electronic) and several nominations for high-prize awards, Bolarinwa Olajide (also known by his social media handle iambolar) has to his credit the bragging rights of having interviewed some of the biggest names in world sports including former Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho and Barcelona legend Carles Puyol.
His programme, Max Sports on Sunday at 3 pm is a four-hour scintillating and all-around entertainment show packed with in-depth analysis, stats, banter, fun questions and giveaways.
