Gov Namadi warns against selling, diversion of COVID-19 support

Jigawa State Governor Malam Umar Namadi has warned beneficiaries of the COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES) Programme against the diversion or sell of their benefits.

The governor issued the warning during the official launch of the intervention program, at the State Fadama office, in Dutse.

Namadi said the program is part of the government’s efforts to strengthen post-COVID-19 recovery, improve livelihoods, and promote robust economic growth.

He explained that a beneficiary selection and implementation monitoring committee was inaugurated for accountability and transparency.

He said, “This is consistent with the NG-CARES guidelines, ensuring equitable access to government intervention projects by poor and vulnerable groups in the state, irrespective of their social status or class.”

On his part, the Chairman, Beneficiary Selection and Implementation Monitoring Committee, Dr Saifullahi Umar, said the committee adopted a rigorous and scientific methodology for beneficiary and community selection.
