The Senate Chief Whip, Orji Uzor Kalu, has described himself as the best candidate to emerge as the next Senate President.
This was as he disclosed that he was the best candidate to work with the President-elect, Bola Tinubu.
Kalu disclosed this after a closed-door meeting with Tinubu in Abuja yesterday.
The senator said he has the capacity to unite Nigeria if elected as Senate President.
“I am the best among the candidates. I have the capacity to unite Nigeria, and I am the best to work with our President-elect for the best interest of Nigeria.
“I have the integrity, honesty, and experience to lead the Senate”, Kalu said.
There has been a clamour for the Southeast to produce the Senate President in the 10th National Assembly.
But, some relevant stakeholders in the Southeast are agitating for Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State to emerge as Senate President.
Amid the clamour, the Northwest has also been pinned as one of the zones likely to produce the Senate President.
