Kogi pilgrims arrives muna Wednesday 6th July, 2022 for the last lap of their pilgrimage to the holy land

Pilgrims from Kogi state along side other pilgrims from across the globe arrived Muna Wednesday night in continuation of the last lap of their pilgrimage to the holy land.

An official who confirmed this to our correspondent, said the pilgrims are already in munna “Alhamdullilahi, We all got to Munna Successfully. Our pilgrims are in high spirit for the Hajj proper.

“We left the holy city of Makka after 10pm Nigerian time. We are now in Muna for the last phase of our pilgrimage.

This movement came after days of Preparations and series of enlightenments preceding the Hajj proper.

Muna, the historic mountain in Makkah, is where pilgrims all over the world usually commence the last lap of their pilgrimage rites and in observance of Arafat Day.

Muna commonly known as the “City of Tents” is a valley and neighborhood located in the Masha’er district in the Makkah Province of Saudi Arabia, 8 kilometres (5 miles) southeast of the city of Mecca, covering an area of approximately 20 km2 (7.7 sq mi). Mina incorporates the tents, the Jamarat area, and the slaughterhouses just outside the tent city.

The three Jamarat, located in the Mina valley, are the location of the Stoning of the Devil, performed between sunrise and sunset in the final days of the Hajj.

The stone throwing ritual commemorates the Islamic Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham)’s stoning of the devil, who wanted to prevent him from carrying out the command of Allāh to sacrifice his son, Isma’il (Ishmael).
