VeryDarkMan blasts igbo traders over ‘Chinese must go’ protest

‎Social media activist, VeryDarkMan, has blasted some Igbo traders in Lagos State over their protest against Chinese traders, questioning their demand for the foreigners to leave the market.

‎The traders had reportedly protested the presence of Chinese traders in some Lagos markets, claiming that the foreigners’ cheaper prices were affecting their businesses.

‎Reacting to the protest, VeryDarkMan argued that Nigerian traders should focus on improving local production and manufacturing instead of calling for foreign competitors to leave.

‎He said the traders were failing to keep pace with changes in the global business environment.

‎“What these guys don’t understand is that the world has advanced, but they didn’t advance with it, and that’s why they have been left behind,” VeryDarkMan said.

‎He also questioned what would happen if China stopped allowing Nigerians to travel there to meet manufacturers and source goods.

‎“You’re saying China must leave the market, but what if China says they’re no longer giving Nigerians visas to travel there and meet manufacturers?” he asked.

‎The social commentator argued that Nigeria’s dependence on imported goods could leave local traders vulnerable when competing with foreign businesses.

‎“Your market won’t have a market because Nigeria doesn’t produce and manufacture anything. We only import in 2026,” he said.
