FUAHSE Reassures Graduates of Full Professional Recognition, Addresses NYSC Mobilization Delay

The management of the Federal University of Allied Health Sciences, Enugu (FUAHSE), has reassured the public that all graduates of the former Federal College of Dental Technology and Therapy, Enugu, are fully qualified professionals, duly recognized and licensed to practice in their respective fields without any hindrance.

This clarification was contained in a press release issued by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Kayode Taiwo, in response to growing concerns over delays in the mobilization of its graduates for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

According to the statement, the clarification became necessary following inquiries and apprehension among former students regarding their eligibility for national service.

The management explained that the delay is largely due to the recent transition of the college into a full-fledged university—now barely two years old—a development it described as a major milestone driven by the academic excellence of its graduates and the commitment of its leadership.

The institution noted that the transition process temporarily affected administrative procedures, including NYSC mobilization, but assured that the situation is now under control. It added that proactive steps have been taken to resolve all outstanding issues affecting the affected graduates.

Reaffirming the professional standing of its alumni, the university emphasized that all graduates have been duly registered and licensed by relevant regulatory bodies, including the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria and the Dental Therapists Registration Board of Nigeria.

These certifications, it said, confer full professional recognition and enable graduates to secure employment across the healthcare sector.

While acknowledging the importance of NYSC mobilization, the university assured stakeholders that the process would be concluded in due course, urging patience and understanding from affected graduates.

The management reiterated its commitment to sustaining and advancing the institution’s legacy of academic and professional excellence, noting that despite its relatively young status as a university, it remains focused on strengthening its reputation in allied health sciences education.

The statement concluded with a pledge by the university to address all concerns of its students and alumni while upholding the high standards that have defined the institution over the years.
