‘Why Xtra Brides Lagos Is Making Waves’―CEO Oyetomiwa Elizabeth Daniel

Xtra Brides Lagos was a dominant custom wear label at the May 14, 2022, Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) in Lagos, where Big Brother Naija (BBN) stars, Tacha and Nengi, and actress Shaffy Bello among others, proudly donned the brand.

A few days earlier, Xtra Bride Lagos had trended heavily when it was revealed that one of the stunning pieces of apparel worn by Nollywood diva Ini Edo on her May 9, mega 40th birthday celebration, was designed by the label.

The label, through its Instagram account, @xtrabrideslagos, also further revealed that custom dresses donned by actors of the movie “Blood Sisters” were from its stable in a post that reads: “'(It) was amazing dressing up some of the beautiful cast of the movie BLOOD SISTERS.”

According to Oyetomiwa Elizabeth Daniel, founder and CEO of the label, there is little surprise why Xtra Brides Lagos has become the favourite of style connoisseurs.
“Beautiful dresses from Xtra Brides Lagos are perfect for occasions you want to stun your guests with unique outfits that will have them talking for years to come,” she said, while further affirming that Xtra Brides Lagos’ dresses “are perfect as dinner wear, reception dresses for brides and so much more.”

The fashion label was established in 2020 after the founder completed fashion training in 2019 in Paris, the vaunted fashion capital of the world. However, Oyetomiwa Elizabeth Daniel, who hails from Abeokuta, Ogun State, had previously cut her teeth as a fashion designer at a fashion institute in Victoria Garden City, Lekki, Lagos, where she had taken a Detailing Course that has come to define her brand.

The alumna of Bowen University, Osun State, further avowed that she has her sight on greater heights for her rising label.

“I see myself on the global map, dominating the fashion world and changing the narrative of black women through fashion,” she proclaimed.
