The Osun All Progressives Congress (APC) has been cautioned against dragging the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) into her internal crisis.
The Osun PDP which asserted that it has no relationship with the APC or its emerging internal implosion made this known in a statement signed by Akindele Adekunle, its Caretaker Transition Committee chairman in Osogbo on Tuesday.
The Osun PDP which also maintained that it had no allies within the APC and had no hand in the alleged planned local and national demonstration noted that it found it preposterous for the Osun APC chairman to blame it for its leadership conflict.
According to the statement, “We find it preposterous for the APC Chairman to be blaming PDP for its leadership conflict. We have no allies within APC and we have no hand in the alleged planned local and national demonstrations. We are a party in opposition for the past 12 years now voted into office by the good people of Osun state”, the party Chairman noted in a statement issued on Tuesday.
“If a faction of APC is pushing for a change of leadership, what has that got to do with the PDP? If a faction feels Oyetola’s hold on the party should come to an end, why should PDP be added as an actor?”
He decried the APC allegation that the PDP was allegedly behind the protest embarked by a faction of the APC as a fruitless effort aimed at painting the PDP on bad light.
While affirming that the Osun PDP was not interested in creating chaos or disturbing of public peace it advised the Osun APC to put its house in order and not to constitute a public nuisance.
Recall that The Osun Progressives (TOP), a faction of the Osun APC had on Tuesday embarked on a protest to demand the removal of the state party chairman, Gboyega Famodun and a restructuring of the party.
Earlier reported that the faction which has the support of Rauf Aregbesola, former governor of the state and Interior Minister was planning a protest in the state and Abuja against the State chairman of the party, Gboyega Famoodun
