War against terrorism must be won in Nigeria – PSC Chair charges CPs

The Chairman Police Service Commission, (PSC), Solomon Arase has said the war against terror and terrorism must be won in Nigeria.

The PSC Chairman made the assertions in a statement issued on Monday by the Commission’s Head of Press and Public Relations, Ikechukwu Ani, following the appointment of new Police Commissioners in Bayelsa and Borno States.

Arase then tasked Police Commissioners to re-strategize and take over the public space currently being distorted by non-state actors.

“You are to ensure that the vision of the President for improved national security is accorded the required attention”, he urged.

Recall that the Police Service had appointed and redeployed Alausa Hakeem Tolani to Bayelsa and Yusuf Mohammed Lawal to Borno State, respectively, to serve as new Commissioners of Police.
