VP Shettima Summons Petroleum Minister, NNPC Boss, NSA Ribadu Over Petrol Price Hike

Vice President Kashim Shettima, in a bid to address the recent increase in the price of petrol, has summoned key officials in the government to an emergency meeting at the Presidential Villa on Thursday.

The meeting, convened by Shettima, brought together Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Mele Kyari, Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu.

It can be recalled that on Tuesday, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) announced an increase in the pump price of petrol.

The new price ranges from ₦855 to ₦897 per litre depending on location.
