VeryDarkMan Granted N2 Million Bail Over Police Uniform Controversy

Controversial social media influencer Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has been granted bail by a Chief Magistrate Court in Abuja.

The court set the bail at N2 million with conditions.

VeryDarkMan was arraigned at Court 1, Chief Magistrate Court, Wuse Zone 6, for allegedly impersonating a policeman. The charges stem from a video where he wore a police uniform and referred to himself as CSP VeryDarkMan, claiming to be Nigeria’s “number one online police officer”.

The bail conditions include providing two sureties in like terms. These sureties must deposit their passports with the court and reside within Abuja municipal. They are also required to provide means of identification and depose to an affidavit to provide the defendant during trial at all times.

Additionally, the court ruled that the prosecutor should verify the sureties’ addresses, while the sureties will provide their utility bills. VeryDarkMan will also depose to an affidavit ensuring his availability during the trial.
