Umahi gives Abuja-Lokoja road contractors 60 days to correct defects

Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, has issued a two months ultimatum to contractors handling the Abuja-Lokoja roads to complete the defects.

The former Ebonyi State Governor who stated this during an interview on Channels Television program on Thursday, said he was not satisfied with some of the contractors.

The Minister also revealed plans to tour most federal roads across the country to assess the level of dilapidation before mapping out the strategy to fix the roads.

He said, “I have directed the contractors on the Abuja-Lokoja road to get back to work immediately and I gave them two months to correct all the defects.

“Today I’m going to Kaduna-Kano road, on Tuesday, I will be on the roads in Southwest. I have to see things for myself”.
