Chelsea boss, Frank Lampard has insisted that his veteran defender, Thiago Silva is entitled to his opinion after the Brazilian criticised the club’s owners.
Following their Champions League quarter final exit in the hands of Real Madrid last week, the Brazilian defender came down hard on the club’s owners.
After spending £600million in the last two transfer windows, the Blues are ending the season empty-handed. They have missed a place in next season’s Champions League, sitting 11th in the table.
Frank Lampard was brought in to take charge of the rest of the season after the club decided to sack Graham Potter after a poor run of results.
Silva had slammed the club’s owner, saying that the indecision over appointing a permanent successor to Graham Potter has affected the players.
Asked for his response ahead of tomorrow’s game against Brentford, Lampard issued a blunt response, saying: “That’s Thiago’s statement.”
