Suspended Abia State Health Commissioner Resigns

Dr. Ngozi Okoronkwo, the suspended Abia State Commissioner for Health, has submitted her resignation to Governor Alex Otti.

The move comes after her suspension on June 11, 2024, over alleged financial misconduct, which prompted the establishment of a probe committee.

In a statement, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Ukoha Njoku, confirmed that Governor Otti has accepted Okoronkwo’s resignation.

The Governor expressed gratitude for her services and acknowledged her contributions to repositioning the state’s health sector.

The statement read: “The suspended Abia State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Ngozi Okoronkwo, has tendered her resignation letter to the Executive Governor of Abia State, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR.
