Ex Senate President Pius Anyim Meets President Tinubu After Defecting to APC

Former Senate President Pius Anyim has met with President Bola Tinubu after defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Anyim was presented to the President by Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum.

Uzodimma praised the current administration for its support to the South East region, stating that the South East Governors Forum is grateful for the President’s efforts. He noted that the APC’s performance has led to significant gains in the region.

He said, “This is a new dawn and many people have agreed that the President administration is doing very well.”

Meanwhile, Anyim expressed his commitment to Nigeria’s progress and called on the need for a collective effort to move the country forward.

He defected to the APC alongside several supporters, including former Senator Obinna Ogba and Labour Party’s Chief Edward Nkwegu, as well as former members of the National and State Assemblies and Local Government Area Chairmen.

The defection ceremony took place during the APC’s campaign finale for the Local Government Area elections in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.
