Sunshine Stars goalkeeper lauds difficult opponent Kano Pillars

Sunshine Stars goalkeeper, Mustapha Lawal, has labelled Kano Pillars a cohesive unit.

The Owena Waves secured a 1-0 win against Kano Pillars in the opening day fixture of the Nigeria Premier Football League season on Saturday.

Lawal said the victory against the Sai Masu Gida was a collective effort.

He also expressed delight for the victory and thanked the fans for their unwavering support.

“Kano Pillars played as a cohesive unit, and it was a collective effort that secured this win,” he told newsmen.

“As a goalkeeper, keeping a clean sheet is always a personal goal, and I’m thrilled we achieved that today.

“Kano Pillars are a strong side, so this victory is a testament to our hard work.”
