Soludo, a member of Buhari’s economic team, states that Tinubu inherited a struggling economy from the former president.

Despite being a former President Muhammadu Buhari’s economic team member, Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has said incumbent Bola Tinubu inherited a bad economy from the previous administration.

The Anambra state governor made the comment in an interview with Channels Television on Sunday.

He said Nigeria’s biting economic situation is an “inevitable” phase for the betterment of the nation.

Reacting to the current economic hardship, Soludo said it is a phase needed before the country begins to flourish.

“But whether there will be pains for any step you take or the other, it is going to be. It is inevitable. But that is obviously what we need to pass through.

”We must realise that things were really bad. We must get it clear that there is no easy way to get this patient who has multiple problems [to become better].”
