Malaria: Plateau Receives 2.9 Million Mosquito Nets

As part of measures towards preventing the spread of  malaria in Nigeria , the Plateau state government has received 2 .9 million treated mosquito nets from the World Bank through the presidential malaria initiative.

The state commissioner for health, Cletus Shurkut, while supervising the distribution of the nets to the 17 LGA of the state, said the efforts was to reduce the high rate of malaria in the state.

Coordinator of the Malaria Initiative, under the Ministry of Health, Ndak Kizito said the exercise was to ensure that all households in the state benefited from the gesture.

Representative of the Global Health Supply Chain, Ifeanyi Chukwu, said technical support had being provided through training of health personnel ahead of the launch and assured of quality distributions.
