Smith Rowe: Arsenal New Star is really Ridiculous

Arsenal’s Emile Smith Rowe has described his new team-mate, Gabriel Jesus, as ridiculous.

Jesus joined the Gunners from Manchester City this summer as he seeks to secure regular football and enhance his chances of playing in the 2022 World Cup.

Smith Rowe said he did not know just how good the Brazilian was before he moved to Arsenal.

Jesus has made a bright start under Mikel Arteta, scoring seven goals and making one assist in five pre-season games.

Rowe came up against Jesus several times while the Brazil international was at Manchester City but says it took training with him to realise just how talented he is.

Asked which players have impressed him most in pre-season, Smith Rowe told the Vibe with Five YouTube channel: “…From the new players, I think Gabriel Jesus. I didn’t actually realise how sharp he was!

“Obviously, I’ve played against him and watched Man City a lot but when you actually see him in training… I’ve been telling my friends that he’s ridiculous.

“Everyone on the team is really excited for the new season and the fans should be as well I think.”
