Service To Humanity: Kogi Poly Alumni Association Honours Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman With Distinguished Public Service Award

The invaluable contributions and remarkable impact of the Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman, have been recognized by the Alumni Association of the institution as it honours him with distinguished Public Service Award.

Professor Usman was honoured with the award during the Association’s Inaugural Annual General Meeting and Award Dinner on 8th November, 2024, at the Edge Drive Hotels and Suites in Lokoja.

Other recipients of the awards at the occasion were the Chairman, All Progressive Congress (APC), Kogi State Chapter, Alhaji (Dr) Abdullahi Bello(Dollar), the Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Honorable Aliyu Usman Yusuf, the Accountant General of Kogi State, Dr. Hajiya Habibat Oyiza Tijani Onumoko.

According to the national President of the Association, Mr. Alexander Ocholi, the prestigious awards were in recognition for the outstanding contributions to public service and humanity by the recipients.

Mr. Ocholi highlighted the Association’s remarkable achievements under his leadership, just as he praised his executive members and board of trustees for their unwavering commitment to the Association’s growth.

He also acknowledged the Polytechnic management under Professor Usman, whose leadership laid a solid foundation for the Alumni Association.

The President of the Polytechnic Alumni Association emphasized the need for concerted efforts to boost membership and support the institution’s growth.

Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman, the Rector of the Polytechnic, expressed gratitude to the Alumni Association for their collaboration and support.

He reaffirmed the Management’s commitment to making the Alumni body more vibrant and admirable.

Professor Usman emphasized the importance of public service and encouraged others to follow in their footsteps to be remembered after their service years or death.

The Rector charged members of the association and well meaning individuals to strive in inspiring future generations to make meaningful contributions to public service and humanity.

The Kogi State Chairman of the APC, Alhaji (Dr) Abdullahi Bello who is also a recipient of Honorary doctorate of Delaware University, expressed deepest appreciation for the recognition and pledged to rededicate himself to the Association and the alma mater’s growth and development.

The event demonstrates the Polytechnic alumni commitment to recognizing excellence and fostering a sense of community among its members.
