Rivers must produce next Ohanaeze Ndigbo’s president – Group warns

The Alaigbo Development Foundation had said that every move to prevent Rivers State from producing the next president of Ohanaeze Ndigbo must be resisted.

The group said that Rivers State has the constitutional right to produce a successor to the late Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu.

Coleman Chukwudelunzu, the president of ADF in a statement on Wednesday said that individuals seeking to undermine the Ohanaeze’s Constitution are the number one enemies of the Igbo nation.

He also called on the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo to adhere to the provisions of its constitution on the forthcoming election on January 2025.

He said, “Whoever wants to deny our brothers in Rivers State their right to produce the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo is an enemy of Ndigbo and the Igbo nation. We must resist them.”

ADF president further allegedly that, on the past, individuals other ethnic groups had interfered with the activities and selection of the Ohanaeze President-Generals and this would not be tolerated.
