Senate President Godswill Akpabio today humorously rebuked Senator Osita Ngwu during a ministerial screening for praising the beauty of Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, a nominee for Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
“Mr President, the beautiful nominee standing before us,” the lawmaker had said.
Responding, Akpabio said: “Restrict yourself to the resume. Forget this word beautiful. She didn’t put in the CV that she is beautiful.”
Akpabio’s comments prompted laughter among fellow senators.
On his part, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe from Abia State commended Bianca’s qualifications and stated that her nomination promotes national unity. ,
Abaribe pointed out that bringing in a nominee from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) was a step towards fostering a unity government.
Former beauty queen, Bianca Ojukwu is an accomplished diplomat with extensive experience, including serving as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Ghana and Spain.
