Provide immediate humanitarian support to victims – Oyo Senator Alli tells NEMA, others

The Chairman, Senate Committee on Electoral Matters, Barrister Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, has urged the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, and other relevant agencies to provide immediate humanitarian support to victims of the Ibadan explosion.

The lawmaker said this on Wednesday.

Newsmen reports that an explosion occurred at a residence in Dejo Oyelese close, Bodija Housing Estate in Ibadan.

The area where the incident occured falls within Ibadan North Local Government Area in Oyo South Senatorial District.

Alli, who represents Oyo South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, insisted that there is a need for all relevant government agencies including NEMA to provide immediate humanitarian support to victims of the incident.

The lawmaker, in a statement issued and signed by his media aide, Akeem Abas, described the incident as unfortunate.

He urged the government to conduct a thorough investigation into the cause of the explosion to prevent future occurrences and ensure the safety of residents in the area.

“I call on relevant government agencies, emergency responders, and community leaders to collaborate in providing immediate relief as well as necessary resources to the victims and their families.
