Police parade three customers over death of drug dealer in Gombe

The Gombe State Police Command has paraded three murder suspects believed to be customers of a deceased drug dealer. The suspects were among several others paraded for various offences within the state.

According to Mahid Muazu Abubakar, the command’s spokesman, investigations revealed that the three murder suspects were involved in a fight with the drug dealer, resulting in cuts to his back and head, ultimately leading to his death.

The incident, which occurred on February 12, 2024, was reported by one Mustapha Mato of Deba town.

Mato reported that Dangunde Abba, Abdulsalam Shehu, and Abdulmalik Garba, all residents of Anguwan East in Deba town, fought with Samaila Yusuf (the deceased), inflicting deep cuts on his back and head using a cutlass.

Mahid stated that, despite being rushed to the hospital, the victim succumbed to his injuries.

He said detectives from the Deba Police Division launched a thorough investigation, revealing that the deceased’s injuries were the result of a disagreement between him and his customers.

The Police Public Relations Officer said that the case is currently under investigation, and the suspects will be charged in court upon the completion of investigations.

“The Gombe State Police Command, under the leadership of CP Hayatu Usman, has reiterated its commitment to upholding law and order. We commend the dedication of our officers and urge the public to continue providing vital information to aid in the fight against crime,” Mahid stated.
