Police arraign man over alleged theft of windows

A 27-year-old man, Yusuf Olatunji, was on Monday arraigned before an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court, Lagos State, for allegedly stealing windows valued at N650, 000.

The police arraigned Olatunji on a count charge of stealing but he pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Insp Adegeshin Famuyiwa, informed the court that the defendant committed the offence sometime in August 2023 at No. 22, Lajo Village, Ikorodu.

According to him, the defendant stole 10 windows worth N650,000 from one Mr Paul Babatunde.

He said the offence contravenes Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The Magistrate, Mr O. A. Ogbe, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100,000, with a surety in like sum and then adjourned the case until Feb. 8 for mention.
