Peter Obi to deliver Founder’s Day lecture at Atiku Abubakar’s University

Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, will deliver the convocation lecture at the American University of Nigeria (AUN) on Saturday, marking the university’s 20th anniversary.

According to Peter Obi Media Reach spokesperson Ibrahim Umar, the keynote address is in line with Obi’s tradition of speaking at renowned global educational institutions, including Harvard and Yale.

The event will also honour Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the founder of AUN and former Nigerian Vice-President, for his significant contributions to education and human development.

As part of the festivities, the 16th Founder’s Day lecture will highlight AUN’s growth, its community outreach projects, and its rise to being one of Nigeria’s top universities in the 2024 Times Higher Education global impact ranking.

Prof. DeWayne Frazier, AUN President, expressed his honour at having Obi as the keynote speaker, praising his long-standing commitment to quality leadership and education.

Obi joins an esteemed list of past speakers, including Dr. Paul Vita, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, and Anambra state governor, Prof. Charles Soludo.
