Peseiro, CAF, NFF mourn late Pele

Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro has joined the list of eminent football personalities mourning the late Brazilian football legend, Edson Arantes do Nascimento, popularly known as Pele.

Pele died in his native Brazil at the age of 82 on Thursday night.

Peseiro took to the social media to express his sadness over the football icon’s demise.

“Today the world lost a sporting legend. Pélé was more than a football player, he was a global idol
Rest in peace, King Péle,” Peseiro wrote on his Twitter handle.
Meanwhile the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have also mourned the passage of Pele.

“We express our sorrow following the sad passing of football icon and Brazilian great Edson Arantes Do Nascimento ‘Pele.’ We mourn his demise with the rest of the football family worldwide and the Brazilian football family in particular. May his soul rest in peace,” the NFF wrote on their official Twitter handle.

CAF tweeted: “The football World mourns one of the greatest icons of all-time.
Our thoughts and condolences go to Pele’s family and friends.”
