PDP Crisis Worsens as Court Stops Bala Mohammed-led Faction from Holding NEC Meeting

The internal crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has taken a fresh turn as a Federal High Court in Zamfara State refused to grant an ex parte order to the faction backed by Governor Bala Mohammed, chairman of the PDP Governors Forum.

New reports that the ruling on Tuesday prevents the faction from convening the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting.

Previously, some PDP governors, led by Mohammed, attempted to remove acting national chairman Ambassador Umar Damagum leading opposition from stakeholders loyal to Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike.

It can be recalled that a Federal High Court in Abuja had earlier issued an order against the removal of Damagum.
