The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC) have decorated 170 newly promoted officers in Kogi State.

Speaking during the decoration of newly promoted officers at the headquarters of the command in Lokoja on Thursday, the Kogi State Commandant of NSCDC, John Kayode Oyinloye, admonished the officers to see their elevation to their next ranks as a clarion call to increase their productivity.

He said the promoted officers in Kogi are part of the 5,010 personnel promoted nationwide.

Oyinloye commended the Commandant General of NSCDC, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, for the success of the exercise.

“We are grateful to the Commandant General, who in his uprightness, doggedness and hard work, is able to reposition the Corps towards making it one of the best security architectures in the world.

“We are grateful to President, Muhammadu Buhari, for the motivation given to the Corps through the provision of equipment, such as the recent supply of ten gunboats to boost the operation of the Corps, especially in the Niger Delta area of the country.

“We are grateful to the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, for his tireless efforts towards enduring high welfare for NSCDC personnel,” he said.

The Commandant reminded the promoted personnel to know that to” whom much is given, much is expected, adding that the reward for hard work is more hard work”.

Oyinloye, who said that promotion comes from God, told the beneficiaries to count themselves privileged and not look down on their colleagues who could not make it this time.

He assured those awaiting their turn in the exercise to prepare for it, adding that they would be promoted in the next exercise.

Newsmen gathered that invited guests, in their respective goodwill messages, at the occasion, congratulated the elevated personnel but stressed the need for them to let their families benefit from the cheering news through increased family financial commitment.
