NPFL: Clubs to lose three three points over violent conduct – IMC boss, Elegbeleye

Chairman, Interim Management Committee (IMC) Gbenga Elegbeleye has revealed that any club which engages in violent conduct in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) will forfeit three points.

Clubs have been made to pay N500,000 in the past due to unruly behavior by their players, officials and supporters.

Elegbeleye, who warned the clubs to shun every act of violence in the upcoming season, stated that a stiffer measure will be put in place to bring sanity back to the league

“Any club that engages in violent conduct will not be sanctioned with N500,000.00 as was the case in the past, but three points will be deducted as punishment”, Elegbeleye told reporters in Abuja.

The draw ceremony for the 2022/23 season took place in Abuja on Wednesday.

The 2022/23 will kick-off on January 8 with 10 matches across all the different centres.

The winner will be rewarded with N100m by the IMC.
