He misses chances – Guardiola insists Haaland not at his best

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has claimed Erling Haaland is still not back to his best after injury.

Guardiola was speaking after Haaland netted twice in their 3-1 win at Leeds on Wednesday.

Haaland found the back of the net twice in the second half after Rodri had given City the lead before the break.

The Norway striker now has 26 goals in 20 appearances for City in all competitions, including 20 in 14 top-flight appearances.

Guardiola said: “He misses chances, but his numbers are exceptional.

“He’s an incredible threat and always in the right position at the right time, really good.

“I think he’s still not at his best because of the injury. To move his huge body isn’t easy for him, but as much as he can play minutes, (he) will be better.”
