Hon. Uchechukwu Offor, the House of Assembly candidate of the Action Peoples Party (APP) for Umuahia central constituency seat in the forthcoming general elections in 2023 in Abia State, has debunked the rumour about his purported withdrawal from the race.
Insinuations were rife that Offor had withdrawn his ambition for the candidate of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Ugochukwu Uchegbu.
Recall that Offor had in May 2022 emerged as standard-bearer of the Action Peoples Party for Umuahia central constituency seat in the Abia State House of Assembly during the concluded primary elections conducted by the leadership of the party across the state.
Reacting during an interview with a cross section of journalists on Sunday in Umuahia, the state capital, Offor maintained that he has no plan or political scheming to step down his bid and he has never contemplated nor entered any agreements with whosoever aimed at stepping down.
He also described the news of his purported withdrawal as a lie from the pit of hell, orchestrated by those who are afraid of the overwhelming acceptability and support his candidacy is enjoying across lengths and breadth of Umuahia Central Constituency.
Offor reiterated that his chances of emerging victorious in the forthcoming election is brighter as he stood tall among other candidates of other major political parties jostling for the seat.
He expressed optimism that his party is also ready to challenge the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the governorship seat in the state.
