Man Utd have signed average players – Ten Hag

Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, has slammed the club’s transfer policy before his arrival.

According to the Dutchman, the Premier League side has brought in “average players”.

United finished sixth last term, 13 points outside the top four.

It left Ten Hag with a major rebuild to embark on after he joined from Ajax in the summer.

“Manchester United didn’t have the fear factor last season.

“There was no spirit. I saw no team dynamic in the squad. The mental resilience was very low. I saw that as an outsider. I also noticed it in my first weeks at the club.

“The club has bought an unimaginable number of players in recent years who have not been good enough.

“Most purchases have been average and at United average is not good enough. United’s shirt weighs heavily,” Ten Hag told Voetbal International in an interview in his homeland.

United are currently in fourth place with 35 points, nine behind league leaders Arsenal.
