Let’s build a more united Kogi SDP, instead of trying to hijack the party- SDP Chairman

The chairman of the Social Democratic Party, (SDP) in Kogi State, Moses Peter Oricha, has called on Muritala Yakubu Ajaka, the candidate of the party in the 2023 governorship election in the state to join hands with the executive of the party in Kogi to build a formidable party structure, instead of trying to hijack the party from the top.

In statement made available to Journalists on Wednesday in Lokoja, the chairman stressed that such a move will only weaken the party in the state, saying that without a viable party as a vehicle, no one can aspire to be anything on the platform of the party that is weakened by internal wranglings.

He noted that the fit recorded in the 2023 election can only be improved upon through unity, coherence and members working in harmony.

“Our party can truly become a great party and a reference point in Kogi if we are all willing to work together instead of working at cross purposes. Let us be united in our quest to build a great party.

“As a party, we welcome more people to our fold. Those coming must come with a mindset to establish our selves as a one united family. Working to hijack the structure of the party will not urgor well with us.

” Ahead of 2027 elections, let’s put our house in order to be able to confront external challenges. Let us avoid infighting as it will not do anyone or the part any good. Instead of trying to hijack the structure, join hands with the executives of the party you met on ground in Kogi State

“It will be an effort in futility trying to hijack the party from the top.
Such a move will only weaken the party now and in the nearest future in Kogi State
