Kogi NUJ 2024 Press Week, Investiture of Governor Ododo As NUJ Grand Patron holds 16 to 20th August

Activities marking the 2024 Press Week of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Kogi State Council and the Investiture of Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo as Grand Patron of NUJ is scheduled to begin from 16th to 20th August, 2024.

According to a Statement jointly signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the 2024 NUJ Press Week/Investiture planning committee, Comrade Adeiza Momohjimoh and Abu Micheal, chairman and Secretary respectively, the Theme of the 2024 NUJ Press Week/Investiture is; “Celebrating Diversity, Promoting Unity: The Role of Media in Kogi State’s Ethnic Relations”.

The Press Week which is an annual event for all working Journalists in the State, provides platform for sober reflection as well as to reposition the Union for effective service delivery.

This year’s Press Week begins Jumat prayers on the 16th August, 2024 with Jumat prayers, has other line up of activities which includes;
Prayers at the Church, Sporting activities, Visit to orphanages , Environmental Sanitation and Free Medical outreach.

The week long program will however be rounded up with the Investiture of Gov Usman Ahmed Ododo as the Grand Patron of the NUJ at the grand finale slated for the 20th August, 2024 is expected to hold at the Edge Drive Hotel Lokoja.

The Investiture of the State Governor as Grand Patron of the NUJ would be performed by the National President of the Union, Comrade (Chief), Chris Isiguzo, MFR and other National and Zonal Officers of the Union.

His Royal Majesty, Ohimegye Igu Koton, Alhaji Saidu Akawu Salihu is the Chairman of this year’s Press Week, while Prof. Akinwumi Olayemi, Vice Chancellor, Federal University Lokoja, would deliver the key note paper; Celebrating Diversity, Promoting Unity: The Role of Media in Kogi State’s Ethnic Relations.
