Jigawa Commissioner Accused of Adultery Cleared by Shari’a Court

Auwal Danladi, the Jigawa State’s Commissioner of Special Duties who was accused of adultery with a married woman in a uncompleted building has been cleared.

Danladi was cleared by a Shar’ia Court on Monday, November 18.

Recall that the Nasiru Buba, the husband of the woman accused of having an illicit affair with the commissioner had filed a suit before the Shar’ia Court.

At the court ruling, the judge Ibrahim Yola said there is a need for thorough investigation by law enforcement agencies on the matter.

He warned that allegations against notable individuals must be handled with care to avoid tarnishing their image unnecessarily.

He said, “Following the investigation by the office of the Assistant Inspector General of Police, the report shows there is no evidence to prove that there was any illicit affair between Auwal Danladi Sankara and Tasleem Baba Nabegu.”

He further stated that the complainant alongside his legal representatives failed to appear before the court to contest the findings by the police on the matter.

“Since the complainant and his lawyers are not present to challenge the submission by the police, I have no choice but to strike out the case,” the judge concluded.
