Jamata Fire Disaster: State Emergency Management Agency visits scene, victims

The Management Team of the State Emergency Management Agency, led by the Executive Secretary, Alh Mouktar Atimah alongside the Caretaker Chairman, Lokoja Local Government Hon. Abdullahi Ademu and his team visited the scene of the fire disaster in Jamata area of the state.

This is to show the commitment of the state government led by His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo towards the welfare as well as security of it’s citizens, hence the immediate response to disasters within the state.

While assessing the level of destruction, it was discovered that property and goods worth millions of naira were consumed in the inferno and a large number of people displaced from their homes.

The Executive Secretary, assured the victims that the government stands with them during this trying times and the government would support the victims in every way it can.

During the assessment visit, the lokoja local government caretaker chairman, donated the sum of One Million naira to the victims promising to continue to support the victims and the community at large in any way he can.

The Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, represented by Assembly Member representing Lokoja 1 Hon. Tijanni Ebayo commiserated with the victims and assured them that government support would come and timely too.

The Royal father of Jamata community, HRH Mall. Ibrahim Okura Mammud appreciated the efforts of the state government through SEMA saying the people of Jamata have faith and maintain confidence in the government.

Also in the entourage was the Special Adviser to the State Governor on State Emergency Management Agency, Dr Sandra Musa and the Special Adviser to the State Governor on Emergency Management Alh. Shuaibu Mohammed.
