Institute To Launch, Name Research Chair After Tom Ohikere

The Corporate Institute of Strategic Research will launch and name its research chair on Media and Journalism after Dr. Tom Ohikere.

Tom Ohikere who is the current Managing Director of the APC NewsOnline is a former commissioner of information in Kogi state under both former governors Ibrahim Idris and Captain Idris Wada and is a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The APC NewsOnline has been on the frontline of image and perception management for the ruling party since its ascendancy on the national political scene and was especially instrumental in the party’s 2019 and 2023 electoral victory.

The Institute in a letter of notice signed by Victoria Okon Ph.D for CISR Board of Advisors and sighted by this medium said the brilliant and titanic contributions of Dr Ohikere to the development of the national media landscape deserves to be immortalized for posterity sake by such an award, a fitting testament to a exceptional legacy.

The letter reads in part, “After an extensive evaluation of your exceptional pedigree and contributions to the field, we are pleased to inform you that the institute has decided to launch the prestigious Dr. Thomas Ohikere, Research Chair on Media and Journalism. This is a testament to your outstanding expertise and dedication to advancing knowledge in this field.

“The Dr. Thomas Ohikere Research Chair represents an exceptional opportunity to further your research endeavors and make a lasting impact in the domain of sustainable Media, Communications and Journalism. As the recipient of this prestigious honor, you will provide significant resources, funding, and institutional support to carry out cutting-edge research in your area of expertise.
