Insecurity: Military neutralize two bandits in Zamfara

Troops of 1 Brigade Nigeria Army and Sector 1 Joint Task Force, North West Operation Hadarin Daji, OPHD, have neutralized two bandits and recovered a motorcycle from the terrorists in Zamfara State.

The troops, under the directives of the Commander 1 Brigade, Nigerian Army and Sector 1 Joint Task Force (North West) Operation Hadarin Daji, Brigadier General TM Opurum neutralized the bandits during a fierce encounter in Unguwar Sarkin Musulmi area of Kaura Namoda Local Government Area of the State.

This was contained in a statement issued by the 1Brigade spokesman, Suleiman Lieutenant Omale and made available to newsmen in Gusau, the State capital.

“Acting on credible intelligence, the gallant troops swiftly responded to reports of violent extremist activities in the area.

“Upon arrival, they engaged the elements in a serious gun duel, effectively neutralizing two of the violent extremists. Others were forced to withdraw in disarray.

“Following the engagement, the troops conducted a mop-up operation, during which they recovered one operational motorcycle belonging to the violent extremists.

“The area has since been secured, with troops of Sector 1 Joint Task Force (North West) Operation Hadarin Daji maintaining an aggressive presence and conducting confidence-building patrols to ensure the safety of locals in the community.

“The success of this operation indicates the ongoing commitment of Operation Hadarin Daji to rid Zamfara State of banditry and restore peace and security to the region,” he added.
