Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has ordered the State Anti-Corruption Commission to commence immediate Investigation into medical drugs supplies contract deal involving the 44 local government areas, warning that, “anybody found to be behind it will have himself to blame.”
The Governor, who denied knowledge of the contract said to have been recently awarded for the supply of drugs to 44 Local Government Councils of the state, further directed the State Anti-Graft Agency not to spare anybody involved in the said contract.
He also asked that the outcome of the investigation be pushed to his office and the public.
This was contained in a statement jointly signed by the Commissioner for Information, Baba Halilu Dantiye and the Director General, Media and Publicity to the Governor Mr. Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa and made available to Journalists in Kano, Sunday.
The Governor directed the Executive Chairman, Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) to immediately investigate the allegation and report the outcome for further necessary action.
Yusuf also urged the people of Kano State to exercise patience pending the outcome of the investigation, assuring them that anybody found to be involved would face the full wrath of the law.
