INEC gets new REC in Yobe

The Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), says Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi has assumed duty as the new Resident Electoral Commissioner, (REC), in Yobe State.

This was contained in a press statement signed by the Head of Voter Education & Publicity Department of the Commission, Rifkatu Duku.

According to the statement, the new REC is “a veteran and seasoned administrator” who served in many federal agencies in the country.

The statement added that, until his re-appointment and subsequent deployment to Yobe State, Alhaji Abdullahi was the immediate past INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner of Bauchi State.

The Commission expressed optimism that his wealth of experience in the service to his fatherland will in no small measure add value to ensure free, fair, credible and all-inclusive elections in Yobe State.

“We wish him a successful stay and pray for a cordial relationship with all stakeholders”, the statement added.
