IMC fines Sunshine Stars N1m for inadequate security at match venue

Sunshine Stars have been sanctioned by the Interim Management Committee (IMC) for failing to provide adequate security during their matchday 13 encounter against Rangers.

The Owena Waves were also indicted for failure to implement effective crowd control at the Ondo Sports Complex, Akure

The IMC fined Sunshine Stars N1m for breaching its rule.

Similarly, the league body also warned the Akure club of possible closure of the Ondo Sports Complex to fans should there be a repeat of the breach.

The IMC warned that the fine must be paid within 14 days, failing which additional sanctions may be imposed on the club.

The club however has the right to appeal the decision within 48 hours.
