I’m shocked – Merson reacts to Man City’s decision to allow attacker join Chelsea

Arsenal legend, Paul Merson, has expressed shock over Manchester City’s decision to allow Cole Palmer join Chelsea.

Palmer will have his medical at Stamford Bridge on Thursday before completing a summer move from Man City to Chelsea.

A deal of around £40-£45m has been agreed between the two clubs for the 21-year-old versatile attacker.

Palmer has scored two goals in three appearances this season.

Chelsea’s manager, Mauricio Pochettino is keen on bringing in a new attacking option ahead of Friday’s summer transfer window deadline.

“I think he is a good player,” Merson told Sky Sports.

“Yeah, a bit shocked, if I am being honest, a bit shocked, but good signing, good player. He has got a goal about him.

“It’s a good signing.”
