Igholado: Edo youths, women will play prominent roles in my government

The Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) National Youth Leader, Mr Muhammed Kadede, says he will mobilise Edo youths to work for the victory of Dr Asue Ighodalo, during the Sept. 21 Edo governorship election.

Kadede said this when he received Ighodalo on his first stakeholders’ consultation after receipt of his certificate of return of Tuesday in Abuja.

The youth leader, who congratulated Ighodalo, emphasised the pivotal role youths would play in Ighodalo’s government, and highlighted his commitment to their empowerment.

Kadede, who received Ighodalo in the company of his deputy, Mr Timothy Osadolor, from Edo, assured him of his readiness to mobilise Edo youths to ensure his emergence as the next governor.

He commended Ighodalo’s dedication to working with youths, describing him as someone genuinely committed to the welfare of the people and youths of Edo.

Earlier, Ighodalo had said that he would remain true to his promises to work with the youths if elected governor come Sept. 21.

“To the youths, it’s our time. By the grace of God and the will of the people of Edo, we will run a government upheld by youths and with youths.

“Together, we will turn Edo into a state that everyone will be proud of. I will show leadership and direction. Our youths have promised that they won’t fail.

“We will show the rest of the world what we can achieve together as a people. We can become a first-world sovereign in Africa. I have seen the path and, together with your support and collaboration, we will achieve this,” he said.

While also emphasising the importance of women in his government, he declared that they would be a focal point of his administration.

He acknowledged the pivotal role women play in society and expressed his commitment to ensuring their active participation and representation.

According to Ighodalo, his consultation with the young people of the PDP marks a significant step in his campaign.

“It showcases dedication to inclusive governance and youth empowerment in Edo,” he said.

According to reports, PDP National Chairman, Alhaji Umar Damagum, had, on Tuesday, presented Ighodalo with the certificate of return at the party’s headquarter in Abuja.

Damagum, who expressed confidence in Ighodalo’s ability, character and charisma to win the governorship election, noted that “PDP organised and recognised only one primary in Edo which produced Ighodalo.”
