Jamie O’Hara, a former Tottenham star, has said a return to his first professional club, Sporting Lisbon, could be a plausible option for Cristiano Ronaldo.
O’Hara noted that a move to another European club in the Champions League could be hard to come by for the 37-year-old.
“Sporting might be an option to go and win something there with his old club,” O’Hara told talkSPORT.
“Or the MLS. Does he go out there? He’d be a huge signing in the MLS,” he added. But no club in Major League Soccer has contacted the Portuguese yet.
“Will he get Champions League? He’s asked and people are asking if would they want him. He’s been shopped around and there are not enough teams that will have him.
“A lot of managers look at him and think he’s an amazing player and will score goals, but will have to change the way the team plays if he’s in it. Managers will look at it and think that it’s probably more trouble than it’s worth.”
