Heartbreak for lovers as CBN reportedly bans flower cash-bouquets ahead of Valentine’s day, offenders face 6 months jail

‎The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has classified the use of “money bouquets” as a form of naira abuse, adding it to offences such as spraying, squeezing, selling, and defacing banknotes.

‎Under the CBN Act, anyone caught tampering with the currency faces a minimum of six months in prison or a fine of at least ₦50,000.

‎Nigerians have been urged to protect the naira and report violations as enforcement agencies step up actions against offenders nationwide.

‎This comes as Valentine’s Day comes nearer as the highly anticipated 2026 Valentine’s Day comes up on February 14th, 2026.
