He never lets Graham Potter down – Darren Bent names Chelsea’s best player so far

Former Tottenham Hotspur star, Darren Bent has named Thiago Silva as Chelsea’s most consistent player this season.

According to him, the 35-year-old Brazil international does not bring his manager down whenever he is called upon.

Not so much has been achieved by the Blues since the sacking of Thomas Tuchel by new owners led by Todd Boehly.

The Blues have remained inconsistent under Graham Potter, only managing to score 20 times in 16 games.

They are currently seven points adrift fourth-place with Potter trying different styles of play and using different players in different positions as he tries to build a team at Stamford Bridge.

Thiago Silva has remained solid in Chelsea’s defence and is seen as the best player in the Blues’ team this season alongside injured Reece James.

“I think he [Graham Potter]is still trying to find that consistency in the team.

“But Thiago Silva is the only one who could hold his head up every single time he’s been called upon and he has never let him down,” he said.
