France’s national team manager, Didier Deschamps, has backed Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe to win the 2023 Ballon d’Or.
Deschamps said Mbappe has great ambitions and will definitely win the Ballon d’Or sooner or later in his career.
Mbappe will compete with the likes of Lionel Messi and Erling Haaland for this year’s Ballon d’Or.
“He [Mbappe] will win it [Ballon d’Or] sooner or later. All the better if it is for this year,” Deschamps told RTL.
“It is part of his objectives because he is someone with great ambitions. He gives his all to set his mark on French football as much as possible.“
The 2023 Ballon d’Or winner will be revealed in Paris in October.
